Hero of Time, a New Materia Collective Project
A brand new music project for Ocarina of Time has been announced! Materia Collective, Eric Buchholz, and Sebastian Wolff are looking for your help in Kickstarting their "Hero of Time" project. It's already looking to be a high quality piece of work, with some beautiful artwork and an amazing sampler track. Here's the offical announcement:
Seattle, WA - Friday, September 30, 2016 - Materia Collective is very excited to announce the production of Hero of Time, a one-hour album of all-new arrangements of Koji Kondo's music from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Upon successful completion of a 30-day Kickstarter project, Hero of Time will be professionally recorded with a full orchestra in one of the world's most popular destinations for recording sessions.
Hero of Time is a musical retelling of the story of Ocarina of Time, including key moments that occur before the game's beginning and during Link's concealment for seven years. The album is expected to be recorded this December, and released in March 2017.
Hero of Time is being arranged by Eric Buchholz, who has produced two similar projects on Kickstarter in the past: Zelda Reorchestrated’s Twilight Symphony and Pokémon Reorchestrated’s Double Team! Eric was also a member of the production teams which created the popular video game music concert tours The Legend of Zelda: 25th Anniversary Symphony, The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses, and Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions.
Sound amazing to you? Head over to their Kickstart page to hear their 4 minute sampler. There are some fantastic rewards for this project, from the $1 Supporter tier to the $100 Vinyl Album tier, and more! Of all the tiers the $40 tier also looks especially delightful, with 6-panel digipaks containing the aforementioned artwork (I personally recommend this tier if you aren't sure). Keep in mind there is an additional shipping fee for any tier with a physical item, for the US that rate is $5.
