Home > Aonuma: Not A Gamer?!?
Aonuma has stated that he merely plays video games because it is part of his job. He says that he would like to enjoy the games though.
"Sometimes I hear stories of other developers who play video games in their leisure time in order to remove the stresses of video game-making. I am sorry that I cannot be that kind of hardcore gamer myself. Whenever a lot of people are playing with certain software, I try to play these games because I want to know what's in them that is capturing so much attention. That's part of my job, though." - Eiji Aonuma
He also says that he might not be a good gamer anyway.
"I always miss the point where I should land, and I always cry out and say 'Wait a minute, is this the end of the whole story? Is there no rescue from that?'"
