The following are details of a Returners gaming marathon:
The good people over at The Returners blog are starting up their charity marathon season once more this March 25th. As is tradition it would seem, we're beginning with The Legend of Zelda. Yes we will once more be embarking on a trip to the mystical land of Hyrule to once more beat Ganon down and raise money for the Alzheimer's Association. The whole event will be going down at our blog over at //returnersgaming.blogspot.com/ streamed live via Ustream. It all starts on March 25th at 6:00pm CST and will conclude, at the earliest, 6:00pm CST on March 27th. Anyone can come and enjoy the games and chat with other viewers. Having a Ustream account is not necessary for talking in the chat, but if you have the time you should definitely consider making one. As to how we will be collecting donations, we will be using the ChipIn widget. Those wanting to donate need to either have an active PayPal account or a credit/debit card. All money donated benefits the Alzheimer's Association.
In the past we've scheduled 72 hours to run through the whole series but this time we're going to be going about things a little differently. As we've only scheduled the marathon for 48 hours (with the possibility of extending it further depending on donations) we will not be playing through the entire series. Instead we will play through a selection of games we see as landmarks in the series' development. More info about the marathon can be found at our blog. It's unlikely that the games will take the full time so we will be potentially challenging ourselves in one of two ways. First, we will perhaps do various challenging tasks in the games being played based on what viewers want and what they are willing to donate for. Second, we very well may play through games in the series we haven't practiced based on donations. Those who would like to suggest something be done on a game, or suggest a game to be ran should leave comments on the ChipIn telling us what they would like to see when they donate.
