Go to the Vacant House in Lorule using the portal beneath Link's house. Head south down the path and go west immediately to find a cave. Inside the cave is the Thief Girl from the Thieves' Hideout. She will give you a treasure chest that contains a Silver Rupee.
Getting the Big Bomb Flower
Now go back to the Vacant House and head west. Continue down the path until you come across a Big Bomb Flower next to the Bomb Shop. Go inside and speak with the Bomb-Shop Man. Talk with him several times and then ask to use the Big Bomb Flower for 200 rupees. Go through the door to the east and lead the Big Bomb Flower south near the giant boulder.
Use the sword on it and then run out of the blast radius. The bomb flower will blow up and then regrow. Now lead it once more and travel back to the Vacant House – being sure not to let the bomb flower be damaged or risk having to restart.
Unlocking the Swamp Palace
Head down the path to the south of the Vacant House and take the bomb flower to the red X marked on the map. There will be a big boulder – use the bomb flower to blow it up and drain the water. Use the hookshot to cross the gap and enter the building to the north. Continue north down the stairs and through the door to enter the Swamp Palace.
Swamp Palace
Once inside the Swamp Palace – use the hookshot on the lever to the north. Now walk south to pull the lever and fill the room with water. Travel across to the stairs on either side of the room and head through the door to the north. Go down the stairs on the west and through the door.
Travel across the water to the north and climb up the stairs. Now go through the door to the north. In this room – stand on the raft to the south. Use the hookshot on the pole to the south and then again on the one to the west. Open the chest for a Red Rupee and pull the raft south. Now go to the east and back up north. Travel one last time to the east and open the chest for some monster guts.
Now go through the door to the southwest and travel up the stairs. Use a bomb on the switch to spawn a chest containing a Gold Rupee. Go back to the previous room and climb up the stairs on the east. Use the hookshot diagonally to get the small key. Head through the door to the northeast. Open the chest for the compass and go through the locked door to the north.
Hit the switch on the west side to divert the water east. Travel into the water and then climb onto the ledge. Hit the second switch using the hookshot. Climb up the stair and travel across the wall to the south. Pop off and flow with the water to the west side of the room. Climb up and hit the third switch to create yet another water slide. Travel across the water to the east and go through the door to the north for the battle with the Swamp Palace mini-boss.
Swamp Palace Mini-Boss
The Swamp Palace mini-boss is rather simple to defeat. Simply attack it with the sword while it is not emitting electric shocks or throw the skulls at it. After a few rounds the mini-boss will split into a lot of smaller ones. Just kill them with the sword to defeat the mini-boss.
Head through the door on the southeast corner of the room. Bomb the cracked floor and fall down the hole. Use the hookshot to get the small key to the north and then travel through the locked door to the southwest. Use the hookshot on the west side of the switch in the center to lower the water level to the minimum – it may take several pulls.
Getting the Blue Mail
Drop into the water and go through the door in the center to the north. Continue north and open the big chest for the blue mail. Return to the previous room and go through the door to the southwest of the room. Use the hookshot to pull the left lever and then go through the door to the northwest.
Drop down onto the switch to the east and then swim around and climb back up the stairs. Travel southwest onto the hookshot symbol and use it towards the north. When Link hits the wall – merge before he falls off. Now travel to the south of the room and pop off on the ledge.
Climb up the stairs to the east and use the hookshot to raise the water level to the maximum. Now swim to the raft to the east and open the chest for a small key. Lower the water level one time and go through the door to the northeast. Now go through the door immediately north.
Continue to the north in the next room and open the chest for a small key. Go through the door to the northeast and continue east through the next door. Now travel south and get the chest for some monster guts. Travel back north and fall down the hole on the west.
Go through the door to the southwest and then raise the water level all the way. Travel through the locked door to the southeast of the room. Kill all of the enemies using the hookshot and then travel across the gap south using the pole. Follow the path to the northeast and go through the door.
Go to the top of the stairs on the southwest and use the hookshot to merge with the wall on the west. Travel around to the ledge on the south of the room. Now lower the water level all the way. Merge with the wall and travel east and around until you reach the door you entered from – pop off to the east of it to fall down to the switch and press it.
Swim to the platform on the east and raise the water level to the max using the north switch and the switch to the center of the room. Go through the door to the northwest side of the room. Swim north and press the switch underneath the skulls to raise up a platform. Now head to the west and lower the water level. Walk down the stairs in the center of the room to open the big chest, which contains the Big Key. Head north back up the stairs and through the boss door.
Swamp Palace Boss: Arrghus
The Swamp Palace boss is rather simple. Use the hookshot to pull the eyes off of it and then attack the eyes with the sword to kill them. Continue doing so until all of the eyes are gone. Now just dodge the boss's attacks and continue hitting it with the sword – an easy way to dodge the lasers is to run around the wall of the room.
After defeating the boss – grab the Heart Container and head through the door to the north. Travel to the south of the room and go up the stairs. Free Sage Oren from the painting and watch the cutscene. If you have been following our walkthrough – Oren will now give Link the Triforce of Courage for freeing all of the Seven Sages. Simply walk up the stairs to grab it.
