This Skyward Sword Heart Piece Guide is a comprehensive guide to collecting every piece of heart in Skyward Sword. There are 24 Heart Pieces in Skyward Sword. All Skyward Sword Heart Piece Locations are listed here, organized by the order they are likely to be obtained in a normal playthrough.
Heart Piece #1
Location: Faron Woods
This Heart Piece is found on one of the roots of the large central tree in Faron Woods. One of these roots, heading diagonally from the southern end of the tree, contains a Heart Piece that is accessible by crossing a nearby tightrope.
Heart Piece #2
Location: Sky
This Heart Piece is a reward for obtaining a Goddess Cube in the Deep Woods region. It is found on a small island near Skyloft.
Heart Piece #3
Location: Pumpkin Landing
This Heart Piece is found on the chandelier in the Lumpy Pumpkin. Rolling against the barrier upstairs closest to the chandelier will cause it to fall down, including the Heart Piece.
Heart Piece #4
Location: Skyview Temple
There is a Heart Piece locked behind bars in the center of Skyview Temple. Free the Heart Piece by using the Beetle to fly to the top of the structure and hit the switch in the center. Hitting this switch will free the Heart Piece, making it easily obtainable.

Location: Skyloft
This Heart Piece is rewarded to the player after obtaining 10 Gratitude Crystals for Batreaux.
Heart Piece #6
Location: Eldin Volcano
This Heart Piece is found on a platform found below a ledge in the bottom right corner of Eldin Volcano. Climb up the rocks and past the Pyrups, then look off the edge to drop down to the Heart Piece.
Heart Piece #7
Location: Lanayru Desert
In the northeast corner of Lanayru Desert, there is a passage shown on the ancient map that isn't shown on the desert map. Bomb the entrance to this passage to reach a long sandy tunnel. The Heart Piece is found in a chest at the end of this tunnel.
Heart Piece #8
Location: Sky
This Heart Piece is a reward for obtaining a Goddess Cube in Lanayru Province. The chest containing this Heart Piece is found on top of Beedle's house on Beedle's Island.

Location: Sky
This Heart Piece is a reward for completing the Fun Fun Island mini-game successfully.
Heart Piece #10
Location: Pumpkin Landing
After completing the Pumpkin Harvest Quest and putting on a show with your harp, the store owner will give the player a Heart Piece.
Heart Piece #11
Location: Faron Woods
This Heart Piece is a reward for bombing a wall located within Faron Woods. It is located to the north of the "In the Woods" warp point, behind a cracked wall.
Heart Piece #12
Location: Sky
This Heart Piece is a reward for obtaining a Goddess Cube in the Faron Woods region. The chest for this Goddess Cube is found on an island between the Lanayru and Faron lights in the sky. It is possible to fall in through the roof to this Heart Piece, or use the Clawshots to obtain it.

Location: Skyloft
This Heart Piece is a reward for obtaining a Goddess Cube in Eldin Volcano. Acquire it in Skyloft by entering the underwater tunnel in the lake and traveling to the end.
Heart Piece #14
Location: Skyloft
This Heart Piece is a reward for activation of the Goddess Cube in the Pirate Stronghold. The chest containing the Heart Piece is found on the floating island above the waterfall in Skyloft. You'll need the Clawshots to reach it.
Heart Piece #15
Location: Skyloft
Go to the second floor on the outside of the Knight Academy. Run up the left side and grab the ledge. Travel left and then fall onto the platform below. Continue down this path until you reach some vines.
Climb up these vines and clawshot the reverse side of the chimney. This will allow you to enter the Knight Academy at night. Crawl through the passage until you reach Zelda's Room. Open the cupboard and you will receive a Heart Piece.
Heart Piece #16
Location: Skyloft
This Heart Piece is available for purchase from Beedle's Airshop after buying the Life Medal. It costs 1,600 Rupees. Completing the Beedle's Missing Beetle quest allows the player to purchase this Heart Piece for only 800 rupees.
Heart Piece #17
Location: Sandship
After activating the Timeshift Stone at the top of the Sandship, climb up the ladder and use the nearby ziplines to reach the rear of the boat. Then, use the Clawshots to make it to a ledge behind the boat. The Heart Piece is found in a chest at the end of this Clawshot path.
Heart Piece #18
Location: Skyloft
After completion of the Fledge's Workout Quest, talk to Fledge near the Sparring Hall during the day. Score 600 points in his Pumpkin Pull mini-game and he will give the player a Heart Piece.
Heart Piece #19
Location: Fire Sanctuary
There is a Mogma found in one of the Fire Sanctuary tunnels. This Mogma is found in the northern corner of the Fire Sanctuary and requires the Mogma Mitts to dig into the tunnel. After successfully catching him, this Mogma will reward the player with a Heart Piece.
Heart Piece #20
Location: Volcano Summit
This Heart Piece is found at the end of the Volcano Summit, nearby to one of the Gossip Stones in front of the Fire Sanctuary. Use the Mogma Mitts to dig in front of the Gossip Stone. Crawl through the tunnel and pop out of the other side to find the Heart Piece.
Heart Piece #21
Location: Thunderhead
This Heart Piece is a reward for obtaining a Goddess Cube in the Volcano Summit. It is found in the Thunderhead on Bug Rock.
Heart Piece #22
Location: Shipyard
After defeating Moldarach in the Shipyard in Lanayru Desert, begin the Minecart Minigame using the "Heart-Stopping" track. Complete the minigame in under 1 minute and 5 seconds to receive a Heart Piece as a reward.
Heart Piece #23
Location: Sealed Grounds
This Heart Piece is a reward for teaching Gorko how to draw at the Sealed Grounds just outside the east entrance of the temple. This is available after Goddess Walls open up late in the game. After drawing the symbol he hints at successfully, Gorko will reward the player with a Heart Piece.
Heart Piece #24
Location: Lanayru Gorge
This Heart Piece is available after successfully healing Lanayru, the dragon of the region. Talk to him will unlock Boss Challenge Mode. After 4 successful battles, the player will receive a Heart Piece as a reward. Make sure to quit and accept the prize after exactly 4 battles, or you will receive a different prize.
