As a very welcome surprise in today's Nintendo Direct presentation, a brand new Zelda games was announced! The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be the next game in the series coming to Nintendo Switch. It's a 2D Zelda game that features the same engine and art style as the Link's Awakening Remake.
Perhaps most importantly, Echoes of Wisdom will be the first Zelda game to feature Princess Zelda herself as the primary playable protagonist. Rather than fighting with a sword like Link, she will use the Tri Rod, which will allow her to create items and enemies that she has encountered across Hyrule. Fans have been asking for a game where Zelda is playable for a long time, so let's hope that this lives up to those expectations!
